Biostatistician

A highly productive geriatrics research center seeks an experienced and articulate biostatistician/epidemiologist to collaborate with ongoing and planned clinical trials and observational studies in human aging. Minimum requirements are a Masters with 4 years experience, but a Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field, with at least 1-year experience is preferred. Required skills include familiarity with Epidemiologic research or clinical trials, using both categorical and continuous outcomes, experienced in longitudinal modeling, clustering, and missing data methods. Competence in applying several methods among latent class, structural equation, generalized linear models, mixed models and survival analysis is expected. Preferred knowledge of advanced longitudinal analysis methods, psychometrics, instruments development and validation, design of experiments, missing data methods, recurrent events models, sample size and power calculations. Preferred design and analysis of epidemiologic research or clinical trials, using structural equation or latent class modeling and missing data methods. Proficiency in SAS and other statistical software (e.g. R, S-Plus, M-Plus, WinBUGS, SUDAAN) is highly desirable. Candidates must be able to communicate well and work well with investigators having differing clinical and epidemiological backgrounds. The start date is 2007.
